Windstorm inspections are now common in most areas of Texas and are used to determine how well a specific structure will hold up against strong winds such as those occurring during a hurricane. The inspector looks for construction features that have been known to reduce losses from windstorm damage. Texas now requires a windstorm inspection before certifying any new coastal construction.
